Motor insurance combines several types of insurance, CASCO motor insurance and compulsory motor third-party liability insurance: 1. CASCO motor insurance is voluntary insurance of property interests related to the possession, use and disposal of a land vehicle.

Motor insurance combines several types of insurance — CASCO motor insurance and compulsory motor third-party liability insurance:

1. CASCO motor insurance is voluntary insurance of property interests related to the ownership, use and disposal of a land vehicle.

A CASCO policy protects you against the following risks:

  • Road traffic accident
  • Unlawful acts of third parties
  • Vehicle theft
  • Falling objects (trees and branches, stones, snow and ice, parts of buildings and objects thrown from windows)
  • Rollover
  • Collision (impact) with stationary or moving objects, namely structures, obstacles, animals, trees
  • Fire, explosion
  • Natural disasters
  • as well as any damage to property.

Insurance companies offer a range of motor insurance programmes. Choose the one you need.

2. Motor third-party liability insurance is compulsory insurance of the civil liability of a vehicle owner; it applies only where the vehicle owner is at fault for the accident.

Compulsory third-party liability insurance of vehicle owners

Compulsory insurance of the civil liability of vehicle owners is a compulsory class of insurance under Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 446-II of 1 July 2003 "On Compulsory Insurance of Civil Liability of Vehicle Owners".

Why do you need a compulsory motor liability policy?

  • The policy guarantees compensation for material damage caused to third parties as a result of an accident for which you are at fault
  • The policy does not insure your car; it guarantees compensation for damage to the other person if you are at fault

How much will the insurance company pay the injured party in the event of an insured event?

  • for damage caused to one vehicle — up to KZT 907,200 (600 MCI)
  • for harm caused to the life or health of each injured person — up to KZT 1,512,000 (1000 MCI)

Liability limits can be increased by concluding a voluntary liability insurance contract.

Direct settlement

When an insured event occurs, the injured party applies for an insurance payout to the insurer with which the injured party has a compulsory motor third-party liability insurance contract, provided that the person at fault for the insured event holds an insurance policy.
