Changes to the motor third-party liability insurance policy

26 May 2011 Reading: 2 min Views: 2 320

All changes made to a compulsory motor third-party liability (MTPL) insurance policy for vehicle owners by terminating it and concluding a new insurance policy are made in the presence of the policyholder (client).

The following documents are required for this:

  1. The original policy
  2. Vehicle registration certificate
  3. Identity card
  4. RNN (taxpayer registration number)
  5. Driving licence

If, when selling a car, you transfer the insurance policy to the new owner, you must be present when the policy is issued to the new owner.

Changes to the insurance policy are made by a manager on the basis of the client's written application.

Please note the difference in insurance premiums depending on where the car is registered.

For example, when terminating an insurance contract and concluding a new one:

- from a car registered in a region to Almaty city — you will need to pay an additional amount

- from Almaty city to a region — part of the premium will be refunded

To arrange a refund, you need to provide copies of the following documents:

  1. Identity card
  2. RNN

To receive part of the insurance premium, you need to:

    1. Within 10 working days of submitting the documents, contact the service manager or manager (in the regions) and check the number of the payment order, or wait until a notification arrives at your home address
    2. With the payment order number or the notification, the original identity card and RNN, go to any office of the Insurer and receive part of the insurance premium.
