Life and health insurance programme for surrogate mothers

Life and Health Insurance for Surrogate Mothers
Surrogacy has not only commercial value for the surrogate mother but also social significance, namely helping parents who, for whatever reason, are unable to have a child on their own. This type of insurance differs from life insurance, accident insurance, medical insurance and even more so from Motor insurance, Property insurance and Compulsory employee insurance, as it is highly specific and has a strong emotional component. It also differs in terms of insured events and claims settlement. The specific nature and complexity of this type of insurance also lie in the fact that not all life insurance companies are prepared to accept it, given its specifics and the increased likelihood of an insured event.
The surrogate mother insurance programme includes:
1. Life insurance (Death from any cause)
2. Accident insurance
3. Insurance against loss of female reproductive organs (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc.)
4. Missed miscarriage (up to 10 weeks)
5. At the Client's request, a maternity clinic and infant care until the age of 1 year are provided
What to look out for in a surrogate mother insurance contract.
We recommend paying attention to the following
- there should be no exclusion of payouts where surgical intervention of any kind is performed;
- in the event of death, the surrogate mother should designate close relatives, i.e. her husband or parents, as beneficiaries.
- for further information, contact the insurance brokers and agents listed in the association's register.
The popularity of surrogacy in Kazakhstan is reinforced by the fact that the law does not allow the surrogate to keep the Client's child, whereas in Russia, for example, the law allows the surrogate mother to keep the child if she so wishes. The relatively inexpensive services of surrogate mothers in Kazakhstan can also be noted, which is why Clients are often citizens of neighbouring and more distant foreign countries.
