Accreditation Committee

5 October 2026 Reading: 3 min Views: 6

The committee analyses the insurance market through the consumer's eyes, summarises client reviews and decides on the accreditation of market participants.

The Committee for the Accreditation of Insurance Market Participants is a specialised standing body of the Association of Insurance Services Consumers. It is responsible for ensuring that the assessment of market participants published by the association is objective, transparent and based on the interests of consumers.

Chair of the committee: Galina Mekhrapolkyzy Musayeva.

Purpose of the committee

The committee assesses the work of insurance companies, insurance intermediaries, specialists and service organisations from the consumer's point of view. Its work aims to develop good-faith practice, raise the quality of services and strengthen trust in insurance.

Analysis of the insurance market

The committee continuously monitors the market from the client's perspective. Its focus includes:

  • claims settlement practice;
  • the clarity and completeness of contract terms;
  • service quality and the accessibility of communication channels;
  • procedures for handling client complaints;
  • respect for consumer rights.

The results of this analysis are used in preparing recommendations, explanations and accreditation decisions.

Working with consumer reviews

Client reviews are an important source of information about how market participants actually work. The committee summarises published reviews using comparable criteria: the stage of service, the type of insurance and the nature of the problem. Individual reviews are moderated under the website's common rules, and the committee cannot change or remove a review for the sake of an accreditation decision.

Accreditation of market participants

The committee considers accreditation applications from insurance organisations, insurance intermediaries, specialists and service organisations working in insurance. Decisions are based on a comprehensive assessment that includes:

  1. whether the applicant meets the criteria of the Accreditation Regulations;
  2. the transparency of terms and information for clients;
  3. whether a complaints procedure exists and works;
  4. market analysis data and summarised consumer reviews;
  5. readiness to resolve disputes through negotiation or mediation.

The committee also decides on suspending and terminating accreditation if a participant no longer meets the criteria.

How to contact the committee

A market participant seeking accreditation submits an application through the feedback form on the website; a member of the association's staff will provide the list of required documents. A consumer who believes that an accredited participant is breaching the association's standards can report it through the Ask for help form or the error report form on the participant's profile. The committee takes such reports into account during scheduled reviews and when considering whether to suspend accreditation.

Register of accreditations

All of the committee's decisions are reflected in the open register of accreditations on the website: the organisation or specialist, the scope of accreditation, the start and end dates, the current status and the history. Expired or terminated accreditation is never shown as valid.

Principles of work

  • The same criteria for all applicants, including members of the association.
  • Recusal of a committee member in case of a conflict of interest.
  • Reasoned decisions and the possibility of review.
  • Openness of the accreditation criteria and procedure.

Significance for the market

The committee's work reduces the information gap between insurer and client, encourages competition on service quality and helps establish clear service standards in the market. At the same time, accreditation by the association is not a state licence and does not guarantee a payout under any particular contract.
